Pitta Dosha

Pitta = Water + Fire

Characteristic of Pitta:
This energy force represents transformation. The characteristic of Pitta humor: Hot& burning(ooshna), sharp(tikshna), liquid and acidic (drava); flowing in an unbounded manner (saram); pungent and sharp (katu).
Pitta is responsible for proper digestion, absorption, nutrition and metabolism, temperature of body, skin coloration, vision, intelligence, and understanding. On mental level, pitta is responsible for anger, hate, and jealousy. Pitta is found in small intestine, stomach, sweat glands, blood, eyes, and skin.

Pitta Personality
Pitta personality people are medium physique, these people are not so tall as well as not so short stature, strong, well-built with Strong digestion, good appetite, under stress, Pitta people become irritated and get angry very soon, Skin is fair or reddish, prone to sunburns, Hair usually fine and straight, tending blond or red, typically turns gray early; tendency toward baldness or thinning hair. Pitta people feel uncomfortable in sun or hot weather.
Pitta people are sharp mind, with good concentration powers, focused, assertive, self-confident, aggressive, demanding, Competitive, enjoy challenges, passionate and romantic; sexually have more vigor and endurance than Vatas, but less than Kaphas people. Pitta people are generally good management and leadership ability, they like to spend money. They are ambitious people like to be leaders. Pitta people appreciate material prosperity and they tend to be moderately well-off financially. These people enjoy wealth and luxurious possessions.

When Pitta Dosha Imbalance:
When Pitta is imbalance in human body then the person with Pitta having following sign and symptom: heartburn or acid reflux, sour body odor, bad breath, fevers, night sweats, speech is "sharper" than normal. Person is constantly criticizing, or making sarcastic comments on others. When Pitta is imbalance Pitta people are Impatient, aggressive, trying to control, frustrated.

Health related problems:
Pitta people are more prone to skin and stomach related problems include rashes or inflammations, boils, acne, skin cancer, ulcers, heartburn, acid stomach, burning sensations in the stomach or intestines, insomnia, burning sensation eyes and other vision problems, anemia, jaundice, food allergies.
